Pregnancy as a greengrocer!
Nov. 3rd, 2012 03:13 pmEach week my app from babycentre tells me how big my growing fetus is, and then compares it to the size of a fruit or vegetable - usually in length though occasionally in weight. These have been amusing me greatly, but I've already forgotten half of them, so I thought I'd look them up and post them all together.

- 31 weeks - 1.5kg - 41cm - four navel oranges (weight)
- 32 weeks - 1.7kg - 43cm - a fresh coconut (weight)
- 33 weeks - 2kg - 44cm - a pineapple (weight)
- 34 weeks - 2.2kg - 45cm - a cantaloupe melon (weight)
- 35 weeks - 2.4kg - 46cm - a honeydew melon (weight)
- 36 weeks - 2.7kg - 47cm - a large yellow melon (weight)
- 37 weeks - 2.8kg - 48.6cm - a stalk of swiss chard (length)
- 38 weeks - 3 to 3.2kg - nearly 50cm - a leek (length)
- 39 weeks - 3.4kg - 51cm - a mini watermelon (weight)
I'll try and come back and add to this as I progress - though I've also been mentioning each week on Facebook as it happens.
Edit: I now learn that in week 10 my uterus was the size of a grapefruit, which partially makes up for there being no fetal fruit or vegetable comparison that week.
